LessonFormats
In-home and online lessons, instruments, teacher safety, and cancellations.
Craft Music offers both. With in-home lessons, a teacher comes to your home in select cities, so you learn in a comfortable, familiar space with no commuting. With online lessons, teachers work with you live and one to one from anywhere, using screen sharing, shared musical examples, and on screen notation. Both formats are personalized to your goals.
Online lessons are live, one to one sessions with a professional teacher. The platform supports screen sharing, sharing musical examples, and notating scores, along with teaching aids for rhythm and notation, so the experience stays focused and interactive. There is no travel time and no downtime from learning your instrument. You can learn more on the online lessons page or start an online lesson here.
For in-home lessons, having your own instrument is essential, because it lets you practice between lessons on the same instrument you use during instruction. If you are still deciding between a piano and a keyboard, our guide on piano vs keyboard can help you choose.
Yes. Safety is a priority. Every teacher on the platform goes through a rigorous background check, a professional interview, and reference verification before they are allowed to visit a home. You can view our teachers and their backgrounds directly.
Craft Music offers a flexible 24 hour cancellation policy. If you notify your teacher at least 24 hours in advance, you can reschedule the lesson at no additional cost.
