About Max N.

Music has been a lifelong passion of mine that has taught me perseverance and determination. It is a lifelong learning journey, and there are certainly some hurdles that come with it. I feel my job as a teacher is to help a student organize their learning journey into an effective practice regimen and also to help a student navigate the challenges they may face. I really enjoy coming up with creative ways to work through problems, and often times just looking at a concept from a slightly different perspective is all that is needed! I have been lucky to study with some incredible musicians and teachers myself. I attended the University of Southern California and earned degrees in Jazz Studies (B.M.) from the Thornton School of Music and Digital Media Arts + Practice (B.A.) from the School of Cinematic Arts. While there I gained valuable insight and knowledge from teachers including Patrice Rushen, Alan Pasqua, Vince Mendoza, Peter Erskine and Russ Ferrante. Since then I have gone on to perform all over the world with various platinum-selling artists including, NIKI, Laufey, David Archuleta, Maddie Poppe, Raquel Rodriguez and more. And I have performed at major festivals such as Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, the Newport Jazz Festival, the Montreal Jazz Festival, and many more.
